Back in July, I wrote about an article that Michael Sheppard wrote in the American Thinker and how it drove me to drink. In a nut shell, the article was about how the only chance the GOP had in 2016 was for Jeb Bush and Sarah Palin to be the presidential/VP ticket.
And my response to that article – in another nutshell – was that while I think that both of those candidates are lovely, accomplished people, recycled candidates are precisely why we FREAKING LOSE ELECTIONS. But the "establishment" doesn't care about that, you see. Because the establishment doesn't listen to folks like me. The establishment does what it wants. It's the same reason that the "establishment" has never really recognized that Mock and I have a blog that supports them, we have a pretty decent Alexa standing because of organic growth (due to other normal folks like us), and almost 600,000 followers on Facebook (again, more of those normal, non-establishment types….go figure). We're just two shmucks running a website to try to keep conservatism alive and kicking in this country…trying to breathe new life into that grand ol' party…trying to save the country from going down the proverbial toilet. We don't know a lot about establishment. We just VOTE and all.
But I digress.
Anywho, Jeb Bush may probably run for president in 2016.
And people were cheering for this. Literally giving him a standing ovation, mind you.
A giant, establishment standing ovation.
So, it's probably a done deal. While about half this country blames everything – down to their ingrown toenails – on the Bush family, the GOP establishment is actually considering running a third Bush. For president. Because if there's one thing the GOP is really exceptional at, it's recycling names and candidates, and doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Cue the batch of conservatives who will tell me I'm not conservative enough in 3…2…
Cue the other batch of conservatives who will tell me that I'm being MEAN to Bush and Palin in 3….2….
And then cue the establishment who will ignore me.
AGAIN.
I could just be in a kooky mood today, but I told Mock that if they run Jeb as our guy? I'm probably going to hang up my hat when it comes to being a Republican and working my ass off for the Republican party. I'm beyond exhausted by these guys up on the Hill not LISTENING to real people out here in the REAL WORLD.
All you have to do it open your ears once in a while, you up there with the suits and ties.
And then maybe – just maybe – YOU'D START WINNING for a change.
