A clever and competent reader sent us this garbage the other day, and it made me shake my head more than I usually do when I'm forced to read liberal spew on the interwebs. Salon.com writer David Sirota believes that racism is still prevalent in American politics. Actually, he believes that racism RULES American politics and has so graciously given us "5 signs" to prove his little theory. Because I have unwillingly subjected myself to this drivel, I'm going to consequently force it upon you, clever and competent readers. And provide my commentary for each of these "signs." You're welcome.
Here we go. His "five signs" that racism still rules American politics, everyone:
1. "Joe Biden is almost never called a socialist or a Marxist." I'm not sure what rock Writer-Man has been living under, but when it comes to Joey McMensa, most thinking people don't initially peg him as a socialist, even though he is by osmosis (I think he got his degrees by osmosis, too, yes?). Nope. That's not the first place we conservatives go when we are faced with the hilarity that is McMensa. You see, we don't call him a socialist or Marxist… BECAUSE WE'RE TOO BUSY CALLING HIM A MORON. He's Democrats' Gaffe-o-Matic. He's comic relief. He's the walking ball of hilarity. We HAVE to laugh at him and not take him seriously, because while he's busy asking disabled men to "stand up," we have to be able to self-pacify ourselves at the thought that THIS MAN IS OUR FREAKIN VICE PRESIDENT. Socialist? Holy crap – that's the least of our concerns, liberals. We just want Barack Obama to stay as healthy, fit, and able to serve as possible, frankly, because we know damn well who's second in line to the throne. And there aren't enough therapists in the world to pacify that thought.
2. Romneycare is Obamacare, yet the latter is criticized. Um, NO. Romneycare was implemented in a STATE, whereas Obamacare is spanning an entire COUNTRY. Romneycare didn't call for any new taxes and it was never deemed a tax, while Obamacare is freakin TAXMAGEDDON and oops – the President kinda lied about that now, didn't he? ("I will not raise taxes!"….riiiiiight). Romneycare had actual bipartisan support. Obamacare did not. Romneycare could be read and understood in its 70 pages, while Obamacare was over 2,000 pages to absorb, even though no one bothered to do so (we'll just read it after we pass it, right Pelosi?). What kills me most about this argument is that healthcare has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE, even though Writer-Man claims that we all loved Bill Clinton's version of universal healthcare, while we hate Obama's. And that's because of race. I don't know if Writer-Man has looked at the debt clock lately. It's a bit different now that Obama's in office. I also question if he knows about that neat new invention called the Google machine. Oh, and for the record? I HATED CLINTON'S, TOO.
3. A white president would never be criticized for these statements about Trayvon Martin. Writer-Man goes on to say: "Obama is routinely blamed by conservative pundits for any violent or criminal incident involving any black person anywhere at any time in America – because, in their bigoted minds, Black America is a monolith, and all black people know each other." Yeeeeeeeah. I have lots of black friends who don't know each other, so your point? The funniest part of this "sign" is that he makes a sweeping (and very WRONG) generalization about white Americans, while complaining about white Americans making sweeping generalizations. It's as if I'm looking for the nearest brick wall at which I can hurl my cranium. Holy hypocrisy.
So let's ponder all of Obama's choices about what he picks and chooses to meddle in, as they've been very telling, indeed. Before knowing ANY FACTS about the Cambridge police officer, Obama jumped on the chance to make said case all ABOUT race – and proclaimed that the officers acted "stupidly." Obama also said that "I may be a little biased here." Gee – you think, Mr. President? I don't give two craps what color you are – exactly HOW is meddling in this crap presidential at all? Add on top of that his meddling in the Trayvon case, before facts came out about this kid being a total thug. And don't even get me started on Sandra Fluke, although even though she's as white as they come, I'm sure Writer-Man would somehow accuse the right of being raaaaaaaaaaaaaacist for being disgusted at their president coming to the aid of Fluke being called a "slut," while conservative women were being called sluts, c*nts, and bimbos by all of Obama's lapdog entertainment buddies with absolutely no recourse whatsoever. It's not RACE, Writer-Man. It's called being PRESIDENTIAL. It's called being selective about what you choose to insert yourself into when you're the leader of the free world. But nice try with number three, considering the first two "signs" were hysterically laughable.
4. America would neither ignore nor laugh off a young black male relative of Obama publicly fantasizing about violence against a presidential candidate. Oh, this one is rich. Of course, Writer-Man is talking about Tagg Romney saying that he wanted to punch Obama for comments he had made about his father. I suppose Tagg should just put his testicles in a jar on his bedside table, become inhuman, and take the fact that the Obama camp has called his father a MURDERER and a TAX-EVADING FELON during the course of this campaign. Both blatant and disgusting LIES, mind you. Moreover, Tagg should probably also forget that Joy Behar wanted his family's house to burn down, in addition to all of the other nasty comments the left has made about Romney and his family. Or should Tagg have waited for Obama to come to HIS aid verbally like he did with Gates in the Cambridge incident? Or like he did with Trayvon? Or Sandra Fluke? What about that black rapper who made lyrical death threats to George W Bush – who Obama subsequently invited to the White House? Is that OK somehow? Because I don't remember seeing any liberal outrage over that. And last time I checked, George W Bush was president. And white.
Even though Tagg apologized and explained why he said it (I'd want to punch someone, too, if they wrongly and maliciously called my Dad those things, FYI), the left is RUNNING with this one. Because Tagg is white. And Obama is black. And raaaaaaaacism. And…
YAWN. Freakin YAWN.
5. Last but surely not least, Writer-Man's final "sign" is "If one of Obama's teenage daughters was unmarried and pregnant, it wouldn't be considered a "private matter." OK. This one is WAAAAAY out there, and completely speculative. It's as if Writer-Man pulled it directly out of his assular area, simply because a list of "five signs" is waaaay better than just four in a liberal online rag. You know. And let's face it, a liberal hit piece against the right is SIMPLY NOT COMPLETE without a slam on the Palin family.
Textbook.
Since this one was pulled out of his hindside and has never actually happened (at least I don't think Sasha nor Malia are pregnant and they've indeed kept it a "private matter"), I will bite the speculative cookie here – and I'll even be optimistic – and say that they'd be treated EXACTLY THE SAME as Bristol was treated. Well, from a reporting standpoint, that is. But the similiarities would end there. You see, I highly doubt that David Letterman would be making sexually-perverse jokes about either of the Obama girls and insinuating they were little whores for being "knocked-up," nor would ANYONE else in the media, for that matter. Because that would be downright sick and twisted, right? (PS, Obama – Bristol is still waiting for HER phone call like the one you gave Sandra when Rush called her a slut….thank God she's not holding her breath, though).
Moreover, "sign" number five, like all of the signs above, have ABSOLUTELY ZERO TO DO WITH RACE. ZERO. The point being that the left loves to perpetuate this notion, because they know that they can end a debate in its tracks with a scream of "RAAAAAAAAACIST!" It's their modus operandi, if you will, and it's tired. It's played. It's. SO. VERY. WEAK.
It's nice to know that Mock and I run this site, though, holding down day jobs, while not being paid for our site. Meanwhile, this yahoo presumably GETS PAID FOR drivel like this.
And people wonder why I like vodka.
