According to this, as the #MeToo movement continues its stranglehold on modern culture, we may see a change in the traditional use of hot chicks at car shows.
I’m not entirely surprised by this, given that F1 banned their Grid Girls not long ago for the same reason. I suspect that cheerleaders will soon face a similar backlash. I mean, we can’t have chicks willingly and voluntarily and happily wearing next to nothing to promote themselves and whatever product they’re endorsing, now can we? That is SO EXPLOITATIVE AND OBJECTIFYING. Just because these women are getting paid and taking advantage of their God-given gorgeousness for personal gain doesn’t make it OK, you misogynistic jerks. How dare you look at women as sexual objects? Don’t you know that women are about way more than their looks?
Just kidding. Sex sells, y’all. It’s not rocket science. I find this whole hypocritical, ridiculous, newfound concern over the exploitation of women to be patently absurd, given that feminists today CANNOT STOP SHOWING US their ladyparts at every opportunity, in the name of empowerment.
I still haven’t gotten a straight answer on the whole nudity thing, by the way. If you post naked photos of yourself (like the Kardashians do on a near-daily basis, for example), is that empowering and feminist-y, or is it exploitative and evidence of the patriarchy? Feminists seem to be all over the place on this issue. Ashley Judd objects to the hypersexualization of women but then insists on having her boobs on display at every opportunity.
Anyway, back to the story. According to the sourcelink, there are some auto executives who are worried about their long-standing tradition of using scantily-clad chicks at their car shows. And it’s possible that over time, we’ll start to see a phase-out of such models. This doesn’t personally impact me either way, but I suspect that guys enjoy seeing hot chicks draped on hot cars. And I suspect that some models have appreciated the opportunities those modeling gigs have afforded them. But nooooooooooooooo. Feminists have to ruin everything for everyone, as usual.
Slightly off-topic but slightly not, do y’all follow Celeste Barber, the Australian chick who has become famous for self-deprecatingly recreating photos and videos of celebrities? She recently got a car gig, and it’s GLORIOUS. (If you can’t see the embedded video below, use this link.)
