When it comes to my taxes, there are a lot of things the government is/was paying for that I think is stupid. Lifelong food stamps for perfectly able individuals, DEI programs, fraudulent Somali daycares, the list goes on and on. But one thing you won’t catch me raging about when it comes to my taxes is spending money on our troops. I’m more than happy to contribute toward making the lives of our men and women in uniform more pleasant/enjoyable when possible.
Democratic Representative Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico, however, does not seem to agree.
In addition to billions of taxpayer dollars being burned in this war in Iran, reports are showing that Sec. Pete Hegseth blew $93 billion in federal DOD funding at the end of last year on:

$3.5 billion for cable TV
$225 million for furniture
$15.1 million for ribeye steaks
$6.9…
Ah, yes, how dare Secretary Hegseth spend money on steaks and cable for people who are putting their lives in danger. He definitely should have routed funds toward something more beneficial, like learing centers in Minneapolis. Also, since when are Democrats suddenly penny pinchers with our tax dollars?
Author Joey Jones broke down exactly why expenditures like steak and lobster are so important for our troops:

Stansbury can kick rocks. Let them eat steaks.
However, unless it fires missiles, I do have some questions about that Japanese flute…
