July 11, 2023The number of times we’ve been accused of being “paid operatives'” for Karl Rove, or for other politicians, is too high to keep track of. Suffice it to say – we’d LOVE for those accusations to be true, because we are huge fans of money. Alas, no politician has ever offered to pay us to say things. And, unless we were ALREADY SAYING things that a politician offered to pay us to say, it’s unlikely we could ever agree to terms, considering Daisy and I have ALWAYS just said what we Actually Think. It’s why we don’t promote products/services that we don’t genuinely believe in, and why we’ve turned away potential sponsorships. It’s this whole pesky integrity thing we have going on.
So when people accuse us of being paid by politicians, I don’t let it slide without a response. Y’all know I love a Wall-of-Shame-worthy spat from time to time, and I especially enjoy when people dumb enough to make a stupid, baseless accusation and TAG US IN IT, then act SHOCKED that we respond.
Anyway, here’s how things went down. Apologies to those of you who don’t like cursing, but I was feeling pretty feisty yesterday. It all started when some Aubry chick randomly tagged us in a conversation, so it showed up in my mentions, ostensibly because she was looking for a response or comment from us. After all, that’s how Twitter works.
Aubry appears to be a like-minded conservative, but she’s also a very loyal Trump supporter, which is absolutely her right. I’m more of a DeSantis girl, although I’ll readily vote for Trump or whoever the GOP nominee is, as I’ve stated about eleventy skabillion times. Much of the GOP primary field is AWESOME, so I’d happily support Vivek or Tim Scott or any number of folks. ANY OF THEM would be a vast improvement over the decrepit old fool in the WH currently.
But this Aubry chick seems to be under the impression that any “RW influencer” (which she categorizes us as), cannot possibly support DeSantis without being PAID by him. And who knows? Perhaps he’s paying some folks out there. Trump paid Diamond and Silk, and probably others, so why this is bothering her, I have no idea. But it’s simply not accurate when it comes to us, and it’s hilariously paranoid, and just utterly ridiculous. Which is why I responded the way I did.
And that’s when the fight heated up.
Aubry keeps insisting, even after I specifically said clearly that we were not being paid by DeSantis or ANY politician, that we must be getting paid and that we’re misleading our audience. So not only does she make a false accusation, she doubles down, and then tells US we need to grow up. She tells US we’re immature. THERE ARE SO MANY POTS AND KETTLES I can barely keep up. I had thought I’d been clear, but if she was gonna call me a coward and ALSO accuse me of sh*t I didn’t do, then it was gonna be ON.
It gets better, y’all.
So let’s just get a running tally here, shall we? We’re being paid by DeSantis, we’re cowards for correcting the record, we’re immature because we’re responding strongly, we’re HORMONAL because we’re not being doormats in the face of lies, and women shouldn’t vote. Wow. There’s a lot going on there.
Aubry then RETWEETED our earlier response, with this caption:

OMG.
At this point, I just started enjoying the ride.
That was at 7.30 last night. Like other normal people, I don’t spend 24 hours a day on Twitter, so after that response, I checked out. I was on to other things – like family stuff, and working out, and doing some stuff around the house. Like a normal person. Aubry, however, LIVES on Twitter, so she responded at 9.15pm last night (I was in bed by that point).
I saw that tweet this morning, and responded.
And then Aubry had the gall to be all, “You’re still talking about this???” SERIOUSLY?!!??! GIRL I JUST SAW YOUR TWEET. I didn’t spend the entire night waiting for your reply. OMG.
Now – I know full well she was TRYING to say, “What’s yikes is…you still continuing the convo…” but the way she typed it was so poorly constructed that I just HAD to mock her, y’all. I HAD TO.
She didn’t have an answer for that so she just took to her profile to bitch about us there.
I referred her back to our original response.
But Aubry doesn’t wanna hear that. Aubry wants to move goalposts. That’s what people like Aubry ALWAYS do. Someone needs to give Aubry a Twitter lesson, STAT. Because she decided at that point to just keep at it with this gem.
Oh Aubry. You poor thing.
