Despite what the left wants you to think, identity politics are not compassionate. They’re not tolerant. They’re not just or equitable.
Identity politics groups individuals into victimhood subsets, and robs them of their OWN identity.
This is gross.
This is one of the reasons I LEFT the left… and will NEVER look back. I was tired of my success and my failure being attributed to my background.
I grew up in Mexico. My mother is Mexican. Spanish is my first language. These are all factors that CONTRIBUTE to who I am as a person… but not the bulk of my identity. Not even close.
There are THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of YouTube content creators. Many of them are black. They discuss everything from makeup to changing your car oil… BEING BLACK DOES NOT GROUP THEM INTO ONE CATEGORY.
YouTube, however, decided this was a good idea:
Roses are red
Violets are blue

This isn’t a one-off Tweet. This is their profile picture and bio right now:
You see what’s happening here? “Support a category of people that we have grouped based on race alone.”
Does anyone else see how messed up that is?
This guy does. And he happens to BE one of those “Black Creators” YouTube is virtue signaling about:
He’s PISSED.
I am a Black Creator.
When I made a video discussing Black issues, you flagged it, claimed i was ‘inciting racism against POC’, struck my channel and took everything from me.
Then your staff pretended to care by setting up a meeting that was due 4 months ago.

You dont care about black creators.
You care about Docile black people who see a dumbass tweet like this and think it actually means something
You’re creating your own black friend so you can prove your not racist at dinner parties.

We black creators are fucking fantastic with or without you and your soapbox.
Don’t tell people to fucking sub to me because im black. I want people to sub to me because i’m a fucking excellent content creator.
This shows you don’t even WATCH black creators.
DELETE. THIS. https://t.co/kfxPPmNZBR

Subscribe to creators who make you laugh
who make you experience emotion
who value you as a fan
who challenges your way of thinking
who helps you cope when things get rough
who you relate to
who inspires you
and none of the aforementioned reasons are specific to race. https://t.co/kfxPPmNZBR

I’m logging off for a bit.
I’m in genuine disbelief that YouTube
a platform I dedicated my life to
is really gonna sit there and tell you to sub to black creators like we don’t have anything else going on with us while telling ME I’m not ‘black enough’ to speak.
I’m so angry.
— ♡♪!? (@SkyWilliams) February 15, 2018
i am sorry for flooding your feed
i just feel like i shouldn’t have to fucking audition every video for my blackness
and i dont like being told by a platform which has my heart hostage that I am not black enough to be a ‘black creator’.
i’m extremely upset rn. I’ll stop here.

HOOOOOOO BOY!
Now… I don’t know anything about this guy. I don’t know anything about his opinions… but on this? I think he’s spot on.
We are worth more than our race. We are more than one factor of our identity. Everyone is made up of a million tiny little pieces that makes up their worth.
Holding ONE of these little pieces up as the determining factor of their worth diminishes their true value as an individual.
