Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi held her weekly press conference on Thursday, and she was all fired up. She’s very upset by Attorney General Barr’s recent “performance” and claimed to have lost sleep over it.
“I really lost sleep last night after watching over and over again the testimony of the attorney general of the United States,” she told reporters. “How sad it is…to see the top law enforcement officer in our country misrepresented, withholding the truth from the Congress of the United States.”
She also accused him of lying and of committing a crime.
“The attorney general of the United States of America was not telling the truth to the Congress of the United States. That’s a crime,” Pelosi said.
At one point, she was asked if Barr should go to jail, and her response?
“…there’s a process involved here.”
Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec hit back at Pelosi’s remarks, calling them “reckless, irresponsible and false.”
It’s clear Mueller was more upset by the media’s representation of the report’s findings, but narrative.
