Woman Reported To Be Killed By Panhandler – But That’s NOT What Happened

In a horrifically sad case, a Baltimore woman was reportedly stabbed to death by a panhandler.

A woman trying to help what she thought was a needy mother and her baby has been fatally stabbed in Baltimore.

The good Samaritan was identified by police as 52-year-old Jacquelyn Smith, who was riding in a car with relatives Saturday when they saw a woman carrying what appeared to be a baby.

The woman was holding a sign that read, “Please Help me feed my Baby.”

Smith, of Aberdeen, Maryland, handed money out the car window to the woman when a man approached the vehicle.

Baltimore Police said in a statement he first thanked the family for the money, but then tried to grab Smith’s wallet.

“A struggle ensued,” police said, and the man stabbed Smith in the torso before running away with the woman who had the sign.

Smith died shortly after arriving at the hospital, police told CNN.

Terrible.

Only… that’s not what happened AT ALL.

Her husband and stepdaughter staged THE ENTIRE THING.

The story of a woman who was fatally stabbed in December after reportedly giving money to a panhandler — a case that drew national attention and spread fear through Baltimore — was actually a ruse by her husband and stepdaughter, who have been charged in her death, police announced Sunday night.

Keith Smith, 52, and his daughter, Valeria Smith, 28, were arrested by Texas State Police near the U.S.-Mexico border while trying to flee the country earlier Sunday, acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said.

Warrants charging them with first-degree murder in the death of Keith Smith’s wife, Jacquelyn Smith, were issued, Harrison said.

“The information and evidence points it wasn’t a panhandler,” Harrison said. “People take advantage of Baltimore. We want to make sure the truth comes out and justice is done.”

What’s weird? HER HUBAND LITERALLY DESCRIBED HIMSELF TO THE POLICE:

He described the female suspect as being in her 20s with medium brown skin, a medium build, about 5 feet tall, and wearing a long brown coat. He said the suspected male accomplice is black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, a goatee and wearing a black hoodie.

WTF.

So…I guess Oprah can go back to giving money to panhandlers?
