President Trump Explains Why Sarah Sanders Hasn’t Been Holding Press Briefings

I saw an interesting segment this morning on Fox News. Sandra Smith asked Deputy White House Press Secretary Hogan Gidley why Sarah Sanders hasn’t held a press briefing lately.

“Is there any plans to start that back up again, or see Sarah Sanders back up at the podium?” Smith asked.

“She’s going to come back when she finds a reason to do that,” Gidley said.

“Smith pressed for a specific date, but Gidley didn’t give one. However, I thought he had a pretty solid response. The truth is, President Trump speaks to the press ALL THE TIME, but MSM likes to pretend that it doesn’t count. In reality, he’s quite accessible. So what’s the REAL beef? It makes me wonder if they’re REALLY just upset that they can’t use Sarah Sanders as a punching bag more often.

It’s not that they’ve ever stopped,” Gidley explained. “It’s just that sometimes we see a need to come to the podium and communicate things, and sometimes we don’t. A lot of the times when we don’t come to the podium, it’s because the President has addressed the American people himself.”

“I mean, he’s the most accessible president in history, and most of the media in this room will tell you that,” he continued. “It doesn’t necessarily mean Sarah Sanders needs to be at this podium every day when the President himself is talking to the American people.”

President Trump decided to address the issue directly on Twitter.

The reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the “podium” much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely & inaccurately, in particular certain members of the press. I told her not to bother, the word gets out anyway! Most will never cover us fairly & hence, the term, Fake News!
