Exec At Grindr Quits Because The CEO Believes In Traditional Marriage. Wait. Whaaa?

And today’s prize for dumbest, most self-defeating, grandstanding move ever goes to…this guy. Landen Zumwalt.

Landen Zumwalt was the head of communications for Grindr, which you may know from such things as being the app where gay dudes find other gay dudes to bang. Zumwalt probably wouldn’t describe it that way. He’d probably refer back to the description of the app on their About page – which says this:

Since launching in 2009, Grindr has grown into the largest social networking app for gay, bi, trans, and queer people. We have millions of daily users who use our location-based technology in almost every country in every corner of the planet.

And we’re still evolving.

But really, most people know them as a quick hook-up app for gay dudes.

Anyway, Landen ran the communications department. And several weeks ago, the president of Grindr, Scott Chen, made the GHASTLY MISTAKE of saying, on his personal facebook page, the following:

‘There are people who believe that marriage is a holy matrimony between a man and a woman. I agree but that’s none of our business. There are also people who believe that the purpose of marriage is to create children that carry their DNA. That’s also none of our business…Why spend all that money to stop people who love each other from getting married? Aren’t there more important stuff in life…there are people that are simply different from you, who desperately want to get married. They have their own reasons.’

Chen was actually calling out the president of HTC in his personal FB post, a company that backs ANTI-LGBTQ groups. But that whole part about him believing marriage is a holy matrimony between a man and woman? Obviously, you can’t say that sort of thing anymore. That’s basically hate speech, according to the SJW crowd.

And as a result, Landen decided to play martyr and quit his job in a huge, dramatic way, by announcing it on Medium in an open letter.

There are not enough eyerolls.

In his self-serving, self-promoting, self-involved letter, he said in part:

As an out and proud gay man madly in love with a man I don’t deserve, I refused to compromise my own values or professional integrity to defend a statement that goes against everything I am and everything I believe. While that resulted in my time at Grindr being cut short, I have absolutely no regrets. And neither should you.

It has been a privilege to come to work every day to fight for our community. I am — and will continue to be — immensely proud of the work we were allowed to do during my time at Grindr. I will never forget the heart-tugging messages, emails and more that we received from the queer community as a result of our Kindr initiative. Nor will I forget being a witness firsthand to the amazing activism work Grindr for Equality is doing globally or working alongside the award-winning reporting team at INTO.

For those who remain, those who will continue to fight for our community from within, know I will be cheering you on from the sidelines. Persist. Make your voices heard. And never compromise who you are for someone else.

So he quit. Because the CEO of his company said he believed in traditional marriage, but that it’s not our business or our purpose to try to discourage others from marrying who they want.

THAT IS LITERALLY ALL HE SAID. And Zumwalt quit over it, because he’s a big fat gay p*ssy. Yeah. I said it.

After word traveled that Chen had written the EVER SO OFFENSIVE STATEMENT on FB that he believed in the holy matrimony between a man and a woman, he responded to the reports about his statement and explained further by saying, “The reason I said marriage is a holy matrimony between a man and a woman is based on my own personal experience. I am a straight man married to a woman I love and I have two beautiful daughters I love from the marriage. This is how I feel about my marriage.”

But you can’t have those feelings out loud in today’s culture, you see. Because people lose their sh*t if you don’t fall in line with leftist groupthink. HOW DARE you have an opinion that’s counter, you radical homophobic hateful hate monster?

Keep in mind, dude RUNS GRINDR, and was taking a person who’s anti-LGBTQ to task. But yeah – still homophobic to outrage-hounds like Landen Zumwalt. So homophobic that Landen had to quit his job so as to not, “compromise who he is.”

Give me a freaking break.

Chen apologized further to NBC News, saying:

‘On November 26, I wrote a post on my personal Facebook account meant to condemn those advocating against same-sex marriage in Taiwan. The words I chose related to marriage between a man and a woman were meant to express my personal feelings about my own marriage to my wife — not to suggest that I am opposed to marriage equality. I am an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and have been since I was young. I support gay marriage and I am proud that I can work for Grindr. I apologize that my words did not clearly convey these feelings.”

But whatevs, Chen. Haven’t you heard? You’re not allowed to say things that make SJWs mad. EVER EVER EVER.

At what point do people like Chen realize how radical their own side has become, and fight back? Because this is ridiculous.
