Grassley Demands Ford’s Attorneys To Hand Over More Information

Christine Blasey Ford’s ex-boyfriend recently released a damning letter. In it, he says Ford NEVER mentioned being sexually assaulted and NEVER expressed a fear of flying or a fear of enclosed spaces. Perhaps the biggest nugget from the letter? He claims Ford helped her friend Monica McLean prepare for a polygraph test.

“During that time, it was my understanding that McLean was interviewing for jobs with the FBI and US Attorney’s Office. I witnessed Dr. Ford help McLean prepare for a potential polygraph exam,” he wrote.

“Dr. Ford explained in detail what to expect, how polygraphs worked and helped McLean become familiar and less nervous about the exam,” he continued. “Dr. Ford was able to help because of her background in psychology.”

McLean is denying that claim.

The ex-boyfriend’s letter raises a bunch of new questions. Grassley wants answers. He wrote another letter to Ford’s attorneys, requesting “material evidence relevant to allegations of sexual assault” made by Ford. AKA, the therapy session notes and polygraph results.

“These notes have been repeatedly cited as corroboration even while written 30 years after the alleged event and in apparent contradiction with testimony and other public statement regarding several key details of the allegations, including when the alleged attack occurred, how many individuals were present in the bedroom in which the attack was alleged to have occurred, and how many individuals attended the party,” he wrote.

“Dr. Ford cited the results of this polygraph examination to support her allegations. It’s unfair to rely on the results of a polygraph examination while withholding the materials necessary to assess the accuracy of the results,” he added. “The full details of Dr. Ford’s polygraph are particularly important because the Senate Judiciary Committee has received a sworn statement from a longtime boyfriend of Dr. Ford’s, stating that he personally witnessed Dr. Ford coaching a friend on polygraph examinations.”

So the polygraph results and notes from her therapy session. He’s really not asking for much. This shouldn’t be a problem. Unless of course they have something to hide.
