“Abortion is Self-Care” for black women.

While white chicks kick back and relax with a pedicure… black girls get abortions. Yup- basically what they’re saying here.

Who the hell runs the “Afiya Center” anyway?

The Afiya Center (TAC) was established in response to the increasing disparities between HIV incidences worldwide and the extraordinary prevalence of HIV among Black women and girls in Texas. TAC is unique in that it is the only Reproductive Justice (RJ) organization in North Texas founded and directed by Black women. Our mission is to serve Black women and girls by transforming their relationship with their sexual and reproductive health through addressing the consequences of reproduction oppression.

Urmm…wut? “Reproduction Oppression?” Isn’t ABORTION reproduction oppression? You know… since you’re forcibly stopping reproduction?

Also, these people realize that abortions don’t stop the spread of HIV, right? If ANYTHING, promoting safe sex, condom use, or ABSTINENCE does that.

You know who promotes promoting safe sex, condom use, or ABSTINENCE? THE PRO-LIFE CROWD. Because we’d much rather you USE A DAMN CONDOM THAN KILL A BABY.

So instead of taking out a billboard promoting day-spa abortions… how about a billboard promoting condom use?

I agree its “your body”. 2 things though:
1. Your body; Your responsibility
2. Maybe self care is teaching unprotected sex leads to babies?
Until single parent family percentages drop, the message of true self care may be lost. While abortion stops single familes at what cost?
