John Goodman Comes To Roseanne’s Defense

Roseanne’s back on Twitter (kinda). Apparently, she has new doctors and is feeling A-OK.

It sounds like the bad Valerie Jarrett joke is behind her, along with the cancelation of her show.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I’ve never thought Roseanne was a racist, and I thought it was really unfair that the media characterized her that way.

Finally, her longtime on-screen husband John Goodman is coming to her defense. He said he was really depressed after ABC canceled the show.

“I was broken-hearted,” he said. “I went through a period, about a month, where I was very depressed. That had a great deal to do with it, more than I wanted to admit.”

Of Roseanne, he said, “I know, I know, for a fact that she’s not a racist.”

Despite all of the drama over the last few months, he’s excited about the reboot.

Looking ahead to the new series, Goodman said the cast will have their work cut out to make the show a success without her.

Goodman said he did message Barr during that time, saying: ‘She had to sign a paper saying that she relinquished all her rights to the show so that we could go on.

‘I sent her an email and thanked her for that. I did not hear anything back, but she was going through hell at the time. And she’s still going through hell.’

Speaking about his relationship with Barr, he recalled that the two used to laugh a lot, and said his goal in life was ‘to make her wet her pants’.

I think it’s nice that he’s finally coming out and defending her. It just sucks that this all had to happen. I don’t think the reboot will have the same magic without her.
