During the rally in Tampa last night, President Trump made a remark that turned out to be ridiculously controversial for reasons I have not yet figured out.
“The time has come for voter ID, like everything else,” Trump said. “If you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card, you need ID. You go out and you want to buy anything, you need ID. And you need your picture. In this country the only time you don’t need it in many cases is when you want to vote for a president, when you want to vote for a senator, when you want to vote for a governor or a congressman. It’s crazy. It’s crazy. But we are turning it around.”
MSM decided to play dumb (unless they really ARE that dumb) and completely flipped out. They were all, “Wow Trump is soooooo dumb! Who needs an ID to go to the grocery store? NOT TRUUUUUUUUE!”
President Trump, at his rally in Tampa, is pushing for voter ID laws and said you need to show an ID to buy groceries.

I thought it was obvious that Trump was referring to buying, you know, adult beverages at the grocery store. And I’d also like to point out that, on occasion, cashiers will randomly ask for your ID when you’re paying with a credit card. It has happened to me before.
Because we live in a world full of willfully ignorant people, Sarah Sanders was forced to clarify. Someone actually asked her when Trump was last at a grocery store.
“I’m not sure. I’m not sure why that matters either,” she said.
She went on to say that OBVIOUSLY you’re required to show an ID when you’re purchasing beer or wine, and a reporter followed up by asking some sort of question about the president’s drink habits (or lack thereof).
“If you go to the grocery to buy beer and wine you’re going to have to show your ID,” Sanders said. “He’s not saying every time he went in. He said when ‘you’ go to the grocery store. I’m pretty sure that everybody in here who’s been to a grocery store and purchased beer or wine probably had to show their ID. If they didn’t, that’s probably a problem with the grocery store.”
Can you even? “He’s not saying every time he went in.”
I cannot believe she had to participate in such a mindless exchange.

It’s all so ridiculous. Voter ID shouldn’t even be a debate at this point.

Ridic.
*This post has been updated.* In the previous version, I wrote “whine” instead of wine. Sorry! Guess I’m just used to writing about libs WHINING all the time. 😉
