It’s ‘nader season, and it’s been EXTRA tornado-ey, if I do say so myself. I’ve gotten kinda used to seeing majestic videos of the storms on social media, but the one I am about to show you from a man in Effingham, Illinois stopped me in my tracks.
Watch:
@abc7newsbayarea An Illinois man recorded the moment a tornado destroyed his home while he was inside. Trevor Jason Kreke said he was sending a video about the bad weather to a friend when he inadvertently recorded the tornado hitting his home. Amazingly, he walked away with just a few scratches, while his home was destroyed. Officials say 30 homes in that area were destroyed on Wednesday, June 17. #tornado #caughtoncamera #weather #storm #illinois

Unsurprisingly, the internet noticed how incredibly calm Kreke was despite the whole tornado thing, and the comments did not disappoint.

Kreke released a statement about his experience and immediately gave credit where credit was due.

@trevorkreke Update video. Thank you to everyone, I am truly blessed by all your love and support ♥️ The GoFundMe someone created for me is linked in my bio. Any funds beyond our needs go to the church & families in need.

“Hello everyone, I am Trevor Kreke, the guy that God saved inside of a tornado.”
Amen to that!
Kreke’s faith and story are inspiring. I appreciated that he said he didn’t need much, and that he plans to give any excess from his GoFundMe to his church. Not many people would do that. But most importantly, I loved his plea for viewers to pick up their Bibles and read, and for daily prayer to God.
I am so grateful Kreke is okay. The fact that he escaped with only scratches and bruises is a miracle. God is good!
