When it comes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), I firmly believe the adage “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit” should apply. If you’re spending someone else’s money, common sense dictates you should show a little discretion and spend modestly on the necessities. Unfortunately, SNAP has veered away from the “Nutrition” part of its acronym in the past, allowing recipients to buy junk on the taxpayer’s dime. It’s infuriating—but things are changing in states like Florida.
Watch:
Someone tell the reporter that healthier options include WATER and WATER. Soda should never be provided in a program that is supposed to be for NUTRITION, as it is void of any.
I love this new rule, but naturally, it’s ruffling some feathers.
Watch:
Oh no! She can’t get a variety of caramel-colored sugar water or *gasp* ICE CREAM! What cruel and unusual punishment…not.
This woman has some nerve to whine about not being able to buy junk with other people’s money. Food stamps should be for healthy, essential items that can actually sustain someone. Juice, soda, or ultra processed treats are a waste of money and absolutely should be cut from the program. I hope other states follow suit.
