Would you like some McDebt with that?
A California McDonald’s nugget “deal” is going viral after a woman took to TikTok to discuss the insane price tag. 40 nuggets for a whopping $25.39.
MIGHT I REMIND YOU THIS IS MCDONALD’S?
McDonald’s seems to have forgotten that $25 can get you a nice entrée at many midlevel restaurants. Expecting someone to pay the same price for nuggets (that may or may not have been chickens at some point) is insane.
And we’re not imagining extreme price fluctuations on other McDonald’s menu items either.
While the meal is designed to serve four people, it demonstrates how prices at the fast-food chain have risen over the years. A recent study by FinanceBuzz found that McDonald’s prices have increased by 100% since 2014.
Ten years ago, the average price of a 10-piece McNugget meal was $5.99. Now, the meal usually goes for $10.99.
Given California’s new $20 minimum wage for fast food workers, are we shocked by this? Someone has to pay for the wage hike, and it looks like it’s going to be the average Joe, per usual.
