It’s time to update our lists! Hillary Clinton has discovered another reason she lost the presidential election.
“There is still a very large proportion of the population that is uneasy with women in positions of leadership,” Hillary said. “And so the easiest way to kind of avoid having to look at someone on her merits is to dismiss her on her looks.”
Um. Is Hillary suggesting that people didn’t vote with her because they find her unattractive?
Sure. That’s it. I didn’t vote for Hillary, because I think she’s ugly. Yep. Totally.
She also said a lot of people didn’t vote with her, because they’re afraid of female leaders.
“There is this fear, there is this anger, even rage about women seeking power, women exercising power and people fall back on these attacks like you’re a witch or you should go to prison,” Hillary added. “It’s not a majority, thank goodness, it’s not, but it’s a very vocal minority at least in my country. And sometimes these tropes are very much part of the press coverage.”
Nice to know those “lock her up” chants actually bothered her. Perhaps she did feel a shred of conviction for once in her life.
So now we’ve got Fox News, bad polls, WikiLeaks, Obama, TV coverage, Comey, the Russians, Putin, sexism, weak women, bigots, racists and the supposed reality that a “very large portion” of the population feels “uneasy” with the idea of a woman taking charge. Oh. And ugliness. That too. Those are the reasons she lost.
Please update your lists accordingly.
