If y’all are late to the Chick party, you need to understand how much we love dogs here. Mock has two, Hannah has three, Kimber just got a dog (yaaay!), and I pretty much have a zoo at my house (three Great Danes and a boxer, in addition to a stray cat and a flock of chickens).
DOGS, y’all. ALL THE DOGS.
This story totally put my non-waterproof-mascara on red alert today, because there is a 15-year old dog in China named XiongXiong that walks to the subway station with his owner and then sits in that station and waits for his owner to return while his owner is at work for twelve flipping hours EVERY SINGLE DAY. You know, all devoted and patient and dog-like.
And then, in true-doggo form, he’s absolutely delighted to see him when he gets off the train.
Because DOGS.
🐶 Meet the dog who waits every day at subway station for his Chinese owner to return from work. The 15-year-old dog, called Xiongxiong, waits faithfully outside a metro station daily while its owner goes to work and stays there all day until he returns. https://t.co/DbRFAN7O8v pic.twitter.com/RafOYuHm5P

‘Xiongxiong will appear at the train station at about 7am or 8am every day, when his owner leaves for work,’ a local resident was quoted as saying in the Chongqing Evening News.
‘Then he will linger at the station – specifically at Exit B – for about 12 hours, sometimes until 8pm,’ he said.
‘He just waits. The moment he sees his owner, he gets so happy and excited,’ the resident said.
I just can’t with this story. It’s too much for my heart to bear. Which, by the way, is what XiongXiong means in Chinese. Bear.
Side note – my dogs would never wait THIS patiently for me. First off, Cash (my youngest) is too crazy, too massive (he’s 110 pounds at 6 months) and he’d singlehandedly destroy that station while I made him wait, so nope. And the thought of me leaving them at a subway station with no grass or trees or birds chirping or other animals to hang with? Positively dreadful from a canine perspective, but that’s just me.
Anywho, I hope this guy gives Bear all the hugs and sinful human treats every night when he gets home, because that dog rocks so hard.
