Behold: A Rare Photo Of The Clintons, Bushes, Obamas (And Melania) Smiling Together

Barbara Bush’s funeral took place yesterday. Her granddaughters gave touching tributes, and it’s so precious and so sad.

She’s a loved woman who is greatly missed.

Family members weren’t the only high profile figures paying their respects either. The Obamas, Clintons and Melania Trump attended Barbara’s funeral. According to White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters, President Trump did not attend because he wanted to make the funeral as easy as possible on the family.

“To avoid disruptions due to added security, and out of respect for the Bush Family and friends attending the service, President Trump will not attend,” White House deputy press secretary Lindsay Walters said in a statement.

Similarly, in 2016, then-President Obama did not attend the funeral of former first lady Nancy Reagan, while his wife did. Sitting presidents have rarely in recent decades gone to the funerals of former first ladies, according to FactCheck.org, a project of The Annenberg Public Policy Center in Philadelphia.

Trump watched the funeral service from Mar-a-Lago.

Now, I don’t need to tell you that I’m not a fan of past administrations (that’s putting it mildly), but it’s nice that they attended the funeral and paid their respects to a wonderful woman. Even though I don’t like half of the people in this photo, I can’t help but think it’s kinda precious.

Each president in this photo did things I disagreed with politically. Quite a lot, in fact, for most of them.

Politics aside, it’s nice they came together to support George H.W. Bush and honor Barbara. We can at least agree on that, right?
