CBS’ Gayle King gave Michael Avenatti a sober reminder after he called Michael Cohen’s lawyer a “hack straight out of central casting.”

Avenatti, who is representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Donald Trump, hasn’t been shy with his criticisms of David Schwartz. On Monday night, he made fun of Schwartz’s weight, and on CBS Wednesday morning he called him a “hack straight out of central casting.”

Gayle King wasn’t thrilled with Avenatti’s personal attacks on his opponent.

“Yeah, you called Schwartz a hack, then moved on,” King said. “But I also think that a lot of people, Michael, are saying you’re a hack too. That this is all politically motivated. What do you say about that?”

“It’s just simply not true,” Avenatti responded. “I’m not involved in politics, I’m representing my client….my client wants the American people to know the truth.”
