As the year comes to a close, I thought it would be nice to give you guys some fun things to reminisce about. Namely… a list of things that were declared “racist” over the course of the last year.
The College Fix has compiled a list of 72 items, which you can read in full here. If you’d rather not put yourself through that, I’ve made a list of my top five.
Without further ado… here’s five instances where my brain exploded over the last 365 days:
Robert E. Lee’s Horse – I guess this one makes sense… the horse was a Confederate soldier, after all. Unfortunately, he was unavailable for comment…
Conservatives – I don’t think any conservatives were taken aback by this one. Sweeping generalities are always a hallmark of a well-founded accusation with a strong supporting argument, right?
The Outdoors – God forbid I come to believe that going out into nature was a fun, and inexpensive, activity that everyone can enjoy… My thoughts on this are apparently just a confirmation of my racist outlook.
White Paint – While it’s not my first choice for interior design purposes, I think a “racist” label might be a bit of a stretch. If you don’t like it, just say that… or would that make you the racist? (Just kidding… apparently white hate doesn’t exist…)
Not Liking Rap – I saved this one for last because it’s my personal favorite… apparently, your music taste says more about you than you think it does. If you don’t like rap, then you’re racist… but also… don’t like it too much… then it becomes cultural appropriation. There’s a fine line… I don’t know where it is, but it’s there.
There is much more where that came from, including a few that I wrote up as they appeared throughout the year. Honorable mentions include: the BMI scale, The Gadsden Flag, and the word “picnic.”
Send help.

Rush Limbaugh, (whose birthday is January 12th) once said that it’s “politically incorrect” for black Americans to enjoy rock music, enjoy country music, enjoy hockey, have white friends, lovers/spouses and to be conservatives, according to the “gatekeepers” of blackness. Those who do, are “betraying their black brothers and sisters”. I’m guilty of some of those items and if the powers-that-be don’t like it, TOUGH! Happy New Year, COTR!🥂🥳🥂🥳🥂🥳🥂
