It’s Official: Florida Gov. Rick Scott Signs A New Gun Bill

This just in: Florida Gov. Rick Scott did it. He signed a gun bill. This bill raises the age to purchase a rifle to 21. It also pours millions of dollars into school security, improves mental health programs and creates an optional program for qualified school officials who want to carry.

In addition:

It raises the minimum age to buy rifles from 18 to 21, extends a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases to include long guns and bans bump stocks that allow guns to mimic fully automatic fire. It also creates a so-called “guardian” program that enables teachers and other school employees to carry handguns.

It’s truly a compromise.
