We Need To Discuss Jennifer Lawrence’s Dress In London In 3 Degree Weather

Apparently, this is causing quite a stir.

BEHOLD:

Apparently, that photo was taken on a rooftop in London where it was three degrees outside. Appropriately, the dudes Jennifer Lawrence is posing with are all bundled up in winter coats. But not Jennifer. Nope – she either purposely decided she wanted to freeze because it showed off her boobs better, or she was surrounded by dudes who don’t have a chivalrous bone in their bodies and didn’t offer up their coats, or the dudes DID offer their coats but she declined them because she’s an EMPOWERED FEMINIST who doesn’t need a dude’s coat, and besides, going without a coat shows off her boobs better. I’m not sure that there’s really any other possibility here.

Social media has exploded about this, as you might imagine, particularly because Jennifer is a loud and proud feminist who’s been super vocal about the whole #metoo and #timesup movements. So there are folks who are now suggesting that the photo above proves that women are victims of the patriarchy which systematically places pressure on them to look sexy and glamorous even in three degree weather.

But not everyone was flipping out.  One person said, “Jennifer Lawrence had a coat. She took it off for a couple press photos, yes she was probably cold but she survived. CALM DOWN.”

I don’t know about y’all, but if that person has some sort of insider information about the existence of a coat, and knows for certain that Jennifer Lawrence took it off for the photos, then that simply proves that Jennifer Lawrence felt it was more important to show off her boobs than be warm.

The choice is hers, regardless.  Right?  I mean, SHE IS A FEMINIST WITH AUTONOMY AND AGENCY,  you guys.  If she wants you to see her boobs, then that’s empowering.  As long as you don’t objectify her, obvs.
