The other day, the cackling libs on “The View” decided to mock Vice President Mike Pence for his Christian faith. I know they mock Christians and conservatives (and anyone who disagrees with them, for that matter) all the time, but this time, it struck a nerve with me. It felt like a direct insult. They went too far. I mean, Joy Behar straight up suggested that Pence suffers from some sort of mental illness, because he talks to the Lord and hears from Him.
Um…guess what? So do I. You can read my entire rant here. I get kinda personal, but I’m really encouraged by your guys’ feedback. We’re on the same page. We all agree that Joy is a wacky, intolerant hypocrite of the highest order.
Pence responded to the mockery with nothing but class and dignity.
“My faith sustains me in all that I do,” he said.
He went on to say that Joy and her co-hosts insulted the “vast majority of the American people who cherish faith.”
Yep. Hi. Me. Us. Right here. She slapped us all in the face.
“It demonstrates how out of touch some in the Mainstream Media are with the faith and values of the American people that you could have a major network like ABC permit a forum for invective against religion like that,” he said.
They really are out of touch. That’s what really gets me. Can you imagine that entire conversation going any other way? Can you picture Joy suggesting that Muslims are suffering from mental illness for thinking that Allah wants them to murder infidels? (And honestly, that’s a LEGITIMATE QUESTION TO ASK.)
List any other completely ridiculous thing, and liberals are all about it. Oh– you identify as a transgender mermaid? TELL US MORE! You’re a feminist crystagender? FASCINATING!
Pence has not gone out of his way to do anything “provoking.” What’s the big crime? Loving his neighbor as himself? Believing in traditional marriage? Reading the Bible? Praying? The HORROR! MENTALLY ILL!
The double standard is amazing. That’s my point.
Anyway, Joy tried to backtrack Tuesday.
“I think Mike Pence, say what you want about him and his religiosity,” she said. “I don’t think he’s mentally ill. Even though he is saying he hears voices I don’t think he’s that crazy.”
Gotta love the insincere half-apologies from Joy.
