Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was on The View yesterday.
While the majority of the segment consisted of Joy Behar blowing hot air up Gillibrand’s a**, Meghan McCain DID call her out in what has to be the most epic moment of View history.
Gillibrand literally stuttered she was so caught off guard.
Anyway, there’s another little nugget we should discuss from her appearance, and it’s this:
.@SenGillibrand lies, claims the term “chain migration” is a racist slur.
New York Times reports: “‘Chain migration’ was originally a neutral, if not dry, phrase used by academics to describe the immigration process.” pic.twitter.com/cfeBApEfNN

Excuse me, what?
There are times when I wonder if these people actually believe the ridiculous garbage that comes out of their mouth, or if they’re just doing it to work their voters up.
While I disagree with her on virtually EVERYTHING, I think Kirsten Gillibrand is probably a smart woman. She can’t possibly be dumb enough to actually believe this. She’s just trying to get a rise out of her ‘everything is racist, everything is sexist, everything is HITLER.’ base… right?
According to the Washington Free Beacon:
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.) appeared on βThe Viewβ Monday where she criticized President Donald Trumpβs approach to immigration and the use of the βracist slurβ βchain migration.β
Co-host Sonny Hostin introduced the topic by noting Gillibrand was not a fan of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumerβs decision to end the government shutdown last week. She then asked Gillibrand if she would support Trumpβs immigration proposal, which includes a path to citizenship for those protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program along with funding for border security and broader immigration reform.
βNo. His proposal is going to really end family reunification as we know it,β Gillibrand said.
WOW. How DARE anyone think people should be granted citizenship for their own individual merit as opposed to who they’re related to?!
RACISM.
The senator proceeded to talk about how βDreamers,β those illegal immigrants brought to the country as children and protected under DACA, view the United States as their home.
βDo you agree with Nancy Pelosi when she says Trump wants to βMake America White Againβ and thatβs what this is about?β Joy Behar asked, referring to comments the House Minority Leader (D., Calif.) made Friday.
βI think a lot of President Trumpβs rhetoric is racist. Letβs be very clear: when someone uses the phrase chain migration β¦ it is intentional in trying to demonize families, literally trying to demonize families and make it a racist slur,β Gillibrand said.
Actually, when someone uses the phrase “chain migration” it’s because that’s what it’s called when you immigrate here based on ties to family members. It’s a CHAIN. Get it?
Gillibrandβs attack was apparently on the presidentβs, and many others, criticism of immigration based on family ties alone, widely referred to βchain migration.β The Trump administration has called for more merit based immigration in lieu of chain migration.
βIt is not right,β Gillibrand said. βWe have to change the debate.β
What’s not right, Gilly? Thinking people should be evaluated individually for merit?
I THOUGHT that was the very OPPOSITE of racism… but what do I know?
This is so absolutely ridiculous….
