It’s a new year (happy happy, y’all!), and that means new Today anchors (to replace that scumbag Lauer) at NBC. It’s official:
Personally, I like Hoda. I follow her on social media – and I don’t really follow a whole lot of celebrity folks, especially media types. She’s positive and happy. She seems to be a genuinely warm and nice person, and frankly, that’s rare in this business. So I’m delighted for her because I feel that she personally deserves this gig, but then there’s the woman-duo part of it that also makes me sit back and smile a little, too. Not gonna lie about that, because I don’t know if y’all have noticed lately, but we’re a woman-owned, woman-run empire here at Chicks on the Right. We started out as two Chicks and now we’re four. And Lord knows that Mock and I know what it’s like to have people pat us on the head and treat us like we can’t do things. You know, because OMG girls can’t right-wing politic. Don’t be ridiculous.
Speaking of that, I watched this video that Yahoo put out – it’s Hoda and Savannah talking about the new gig and how excited they are, and I skimmed a few of the comments. I do that. I tend to read other people’s comments (I still read our website comments but stopped reading our own Facebook comments a few years ago, FYI). After almost nine years of this, people have become pretty predictable. I figured folks would freak out over two chicks co-hosting the Today Show.
Oh look! I was right. And I wonder if these people were hugged by their mothers enough:
“Menses-fueled” vitriol was my favorite. Bless his heart.
Anywho, I hope these ladies kick Lauer’s a$$ in the ratings – that’d be enough, really. With huge smiles on their faces…having the absolute time of their lives.
Best of luck to them.
