Twitter accounts were censored even when they shared information from the CDC’s own website. The funniest part about this particular instance of censorship is that the tweet labeled “misinformation” despite containing data from the CDC’s own website was actually a response to a tweet containing actual misinformation that incorrectly stated that “since December of 2021 COVID has been the leading cause of death from disease in children.”
26. Internal records showed that a bot had flagged the tweet, and that it received many “tattles” (what the system amusingly called reports from users). That triggered a manual review by a human who– despite the tweet showing actual CDC data–nevertheless labeled it “Misleading”

David Zweig included numerous examples of medical professionals and scientists who did nothing more than refer to CDC data or published studies. Attorneys for Doctor Andrew Bostom, a Rhode Island physician who was permanently suspended after 5 violations for “misinformation,” found that only 1 of his 5 violations were valid. And the one that was considered valid still correctly cited legitimate data, but that data was extremely inconvenient to the narrative about vaccinating kids against COVID.
