House GOP Announces “Investigation Of Joe Biden”

The country just found out that Republicans will take control of the House of Representatives in January. Wasting no time, the Republican House Oversight Chair, Representative James Comer, announced that they would be launching an investigation into Joe Biden regarding “his family’s international business schemes” and whether he “is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars.” He explains,

“Committee Republicans have uncovered evidence of federal crimes committed by and to the benefit of members of the President’s family. These include conspiracy or defrauding the United States, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, violation of the foreign agents registration act, violations of the foreign corrupt practices act, violations of the trafficking victims protection act, tax evasion, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.”

He then reiterates, “I want to be clear. This is an investigation of Joe Biden.”

This has been a long time coming and it does need to happen. Corruption and criminality at the highest levels of our government need to be exposed and investigated, and Joe Biden and his family are corrupt criminals in the highest levels of our government. BUT, I don’t want this to become the Republican version of the J6 obsession. There are a lot of very important things that we need our representatives working on to improve the quality of American life, our country, our society, our economy, etc. And while Joe Biden and his family certainly need to be investigated, I don’t think it is in the best interest of the country or the American people for this to turn into J6 2.0. House Democrats spent so much time and money on the J6 investigations and hearings, to the exclusion of so much else that the American people needed them to get done. So yes, investigate Joe Biden, but don’t let it become the sole obsession of the next two years, to the exclusion of all else. Otherwise, we handicap ourselves before 2024. We need Republicans to be able to show the people what they did, or tried to do, during these next two years. We need to keep our priorities straight.
