Ohio senatorial candidates Rep. Tim Ryan (D) and JD Vance (R) went at it tonight in a debate. One of the questions, predictably, was about abortion. Trump-endorsed candidate Vance was asked about whether he supports rape and incest exceptions to abortion bans, as Ryan’s campaign has misrepresented Vance’s stance on the issue.
Holy shit, @JDVance1 just KO'd Tim Ryan!!!

"You voted so many times against border wall funding…If you had done your job, she would have never been raped in the first place. Do your job on border security, don't lecture me about opinions I don't actually have." #OHSenDebate pic.twitter.com/MzDLevzKeI
Vance gave a fairly emphatic response, invoking the oft-cited story of the raped 10-year-old girl who sought to abort the subsequent pregnancy, saying,
“I’ve always believed in reasonable exceptions… I’ve said repeatedly on the record, I think that that girl should be able to get an abortion if she and her family so choose to do so.”
But after declaring his stance on exceptions to abortion bans, he took the opportunity to absolutely demolish Representative Tim Ryan’s record and his personal responsibility in this tragic story. He said,
“But let’s talk about that case. Because why was a 10-year-old girl raped in our community, raped in our state in the first place? The thing the media and Congressman Ryan, they talk about this all the time, the thing they never mention is that poor girl was raped by an illegal alien. Somebody who should have never been in this state in the first place.
You voted so many times against border wall funding, so many times for amnesty, Tim. If you had done your job, she would have never been raped in the first place. Do your job on border security, don’t lecture me about opinions I don’t actually have.”
Whew! That was a pretty serious blow. Calling Ryan out on his America-last border stance, calling him (and the media) out for manipulating the narrative, and laying the tragedy of a raped and pregnant 10-year-old Ohio girl directly at the feet of the man who actually had a hand in allowing it to happen. I love to see it.

My personal opinion is that we need an Operation Wetback II. Build the wall and deport them all. My wife and I had to jump through hoops for a year to get her an immigration visa. The first year of our marriage was spent living in separate countries. We both feel like we won a lottery when we found each other. USCIS did not even follow their own regulations. Illegal Aliens should not be allowed to break our laws and be rewarded for it. If you want to change immigration laws, ask your congressional delegation to sponsor legislation to make changes.
