Here’s The GORGEOUS Lizzo Flute Video That SHOULD Have Gone Viral, But Vulgarity & Shock Value Won Out

Y’all, I just wrote about music star Lizzo’s mostly-naked twerking on a D.C. stage as she played about 2 pathetic notes on the 1813 crystal flute of President James Madison. It was vulgar and unimpressive, to say the least. And I’ll show you that clip later, unless you’ve seen it already, then you’ll never be able to forget it. But honestly, I’m mad about it. Here’s why.

Here’s a clip of what SHOULD have gone viral. A clip of what the public SHOULD have been shown. Here’s how this performance SHOULD have sounded and looked. No mostly-naked twerking, no anticlimactic tremolo. No. A talented musician gorgeously playing a national history treasure. THIS is incredible.

So my question is, why did the public get the mostly-naked twerking tremolo?

It’s almost like they made the whole thing as vulgar and debased as possible, purely for shock value. They wanted to shock the public. They wanted clicks and shares and they wanted controversy, and they got it. They wanted people to criticize her mostly-naked twerking while pathetically playing a single note on a national history treasure. Then they could criticize anyone who was critical of her performance. They’d say that Lizzo is just being brave and strong and edgy and her true self. That no one should dare criticize her for any reason, and that what she did was perfectly appropriate and commendable.

But why not show us the phenomenal musician gorgeously playing a national history treasure so we could all be incredibly impressed with her talent? The only reason they did that whole mostly-naked twerking tremolo thing was for shock value and to generate controversy. Phenomenal musician gorgeously playing a national history treasure doesn’t fit the narrative of normalizing vulgarity and mediocrity.
