Music star Lizzo visited the Library of Congress on Monday and got to play some of the historic instruments they keep there. I didn’t know she’s a flautists, but that’s really pretty cool. The Library of Congress decided to let Lizzo share her musical gift “with her concert audience Tuesday night.” Here’s their little propaganda reel about her visit.
Hearing @lizzo play some of the Library's priceless antique instruments on Monday was such a gift, and we were honored and happy to help her share that gift with her concert audience Tuesday night. Here is some more behind-the-scenes footage of her Library tour. #LizzoAtLOC pic.twitter.com/OQc4K3YXBg

So then on Tuesday night, Lizzo took to the stage in D.C. where she was joined by the Secret Service and the Capitol Police while she played President James Madison’s 1813 crystal flute, on loan from the Library of Congress. I use the term “played” very loosely. She played a single note, then she played a tremolo, then she handed the flute off to whoever is responsible for it. That was enough, apparently. According to a D.C. Fox News reporter, Lizzo is the first person to ever be permitted to play this crystal flute. What an incredible honor to get to do this!
And she did it all wearing a mostly see-through, glittery, thong bodysuit. Lingerie, basically. She even twerked as she played that tremolo. Because who wouldn’t twerk mostly naked on stage with the 200 year old crystal flute of a former President of the United States of America?
“HISTORY IS FREAKIN’ COOL” –@lizzo! Of course – it’s the nation’s capital so @SecretService & @CapitolPolice joined her on stage. Why? Because she is the FIRST ever to play President James Madison’s 1813 crystal flute courtesy of @librarycongress. Super amazing to witness! pic.twitter.com/aQRSsVhrv0
