As Biden Hosts Atlanta Braves, White House Urges “Conversation” About “Controversial” Team Name

On the exact same day that the White House hosted the Atlanta Braves to score a few brownie points with Georgia, the White House simply COULD NOT help themselves, and encouraged a “conversation” about changing the name of the Braves to something less Native American. Forget about inflation, crime, illegal immigration, drug overdoses… The White House cares about making sure the name of the Atlanta MLB team is politically correct.

“We believe that it’s important to have this conversation, you know, and Native American and indigenous voices, they should be at the center of this conversation.”

Now, to shift gears just a little bit. I know very little about the following situation and this is the first I’m seeing it in writing in a major media outlet, but in my research on this Atlanta Braves visit, I came across this Politico article about some kind of ongoing spat between the White House and Biden press team and the media at large, especially smaller media outlets. Basically, in this specific situation, a hometown journal covering the Braves was barred from admittance at the event citing limited capacity, despite there apparently being plenty of space, as well as some major outlets getting multiple press credentials for reporters, cameramen, etc.

My initial reaction is that I suspect the Biden White House is being extra strict about what media and press representatives they allow because they have to control everything– questions, reporters asking the questions, media organizations sending reporters who are allowed to ask approved questions, and especially Biden’s answers. Even the press is realizing that America no longer has a free press. We have a hyper-partisan and micromanaged press.
