Talk about oblivious and hypocritical. After 50 more migrants arrived on buses from Texas, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is complaining about Texas Governor Abbott failing to sufficiently coordinate and cooperate with her regarding the illegals. She said,
“My frustration comes from the actions of the governor of Texas. There could be a level of coordination and cooperation, but he chooses to do none of those things. Instead, he chooses to send human beings across the country to an uncertain destination. That’s unacceptable.”
I’m sorry, but it’s laughable that she’s annoyed at the lack of coordination and cooperation. Does Lightfoot think Abbott is getting coordination and cooperation from the hundreds of thousands (even millions) of illegals who are continuously pouring across the open southern border, flooding the towns in his state, and sucking up his state’s resources? Does she think Abbott is getting coordination and cooperation from the Biden Administration to address this immigration crisis? Does she really think that’s how it’s been working? She also said of Gov. Abbott,
“He is manufacturing a human crisis and it makes no sense to me.”
Again, this is laughable. Gov. Abbott isn’t the one manufacturing a human crisis. He’s the one who has been almost single-handedly DEALING with the human crisis which the Biden Administration manufactured with the full support of radical leftist politicians like Lori Lightfoot. They made empty promises that enticed millions of people to illegally enter the country, and then they turned a blind eye and pretended like nothing was happening as conditions got exponentially worse. The desperate pleas from Texas residents and Texas politicians for the Biden Administration to address the worsening border crisis and provide some coordination and cooperation have gone unheard and unanswered. And so Gov. Abbott decided to force them to acknowledge and deal with the border crisis.
The whole point of his plan is to show these out-of-touch leftist political elites what it’s really like to have illegals flooding your city unannounced, uncoordinated, and unsupported. Gov. Abbott wants people like Mayors Lightfoot (Chicago), Adams (NYC), and Bowser (DC) to feel just a fraction of what Texas has been dealing with since Biden took office. He’s not going to coordinate and cooperate in order to ease the burden on these mayors and these cities because the burden is exactly what he wants them to feel. The burden he and his state have been shouldering.
How pathetic that a few dozen illegals showing up in her sanctuary city suddenly sends Lightfoot into a panic about coordination and cooperation. The lack of self-awareness is astounding.
Here’s her press conference, in which she also attacks Gov. Abbott’s christian faith for daring to send illegal immigrants to a city that proudly declared themself a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.
HAPPENING NOW: Mayor Lightfoot and City leaders hold a media availability.

Not related to this article, but something I want to point out.
It seems like fewer and fewer people are commenting on articles these days, and (for me at least) that is largely due to this new comment system, which doesn’t allow us to get notifications when others respond to our posts. This makes real communication and conversation (like we had – and greatly enjoyed – in the past) practically impossible.
If I’m just not finding the right toggle to get notifications, can someone please let me know where that is? If that option doesn’t exist, can someone please work on getting that included in this new system? Not being able to actually talk to each other seems to be killing this COTR community, and that’s a great loss!
If I want to click on “like”, it requires me to sign in. If I’m already signed in, shouldn’t I be able to “like” a comment as it was before COTR’s site redesign. I too, miss the notifications.
