Chelsea Clinton LOOOOOOVES The Hijab-Wearing Barbie!

Quite some time has passed since we last posted about Chelsea Clinton. Hasn’t it been nice? If you do a quick search on our website, the last Chelsea Clinton-related post went up on October 17, 2017. We almost made it an entire month! Way to go us!

I really hate to break the streak, but Chelsea Clinton tweeted something so fantastically ridiculous, and I cannot ignore it.

In case you haven’t heard, Mattel is making a Barbie out of US Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad. She’s a Muslim and wears a hijab, because #empowerment.

“Ibtihaj Muhammad has challenged every stereotype — which to me is the definition of a modern American woman,” Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive said in a statement.

She’s a perfect example of a “modern American woman,” wearing her hijab and all. And before you get mad at me for making this about her hijab, realize that this is about her hijab. THAT’S what makes her super cool. The Olympic athlete thing? Not so much.

Ah yes. When will these Barbies donning a worldwide symbol of oppression be available?

I realize many women CHOOSE to wear a hijab, but the truth of the matter is, it doesn’t change what it represents. Many women don’t have a choice. They’re required to. Forced to. And if they break the rules, the consequences are severe.

Hijabs are symbolic of a disgusting religion that doesn’t respect women. I stand by that statement and always will.

Of course, little idiot Chelsea Clinton feels oh-so EMPOWERED by oppressed Barbie. (No word if she comes with a Ken doll equipped with stone-throwing accessories.)
