The Weiner started his 21-month prison sentence today, marking the first time in recent memory a Democrat has actually faced legal consequences for their actions.

Anthony Weiner was dropped off by his brother at a Massachusetts prison Monday to begin serving out his 21-month sentence as a sex offender, just over one year after his pervy text messages to an underage girl destroyed his marriage and career.
The former Democratic congressman and one-time frontrunner for New York City mayor will spend the next two years at Devens Prison in the northern Massachusetts town of Ayers – the same facility where Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev served out his first two years in federal custody.
Weiner had spent his final day of freedom in his Manhattan apartment with his father, Morton, who was spotted at a nearby Starbucks around 11am on Sunday.
And on Monday morning, his younger brother Jason drove the disgraced politician to prison while Weiner’s estranged wife Huma Abedin stayed back in New York City to drop off the couple’s five-year-old son Jordan at school.
DailyMail.com has confirmed that Weiner was in custody of the federal prison as of Monday morning, where he will spend the next 21 months as an inmate.
It’s the end of a long descent for the former political star, whose compulsive sexting habit and repeated scandals wrecked his congressional career, his promising campaign for New York City mayor and his marriage to Hillary Clinton’s closest aide.
Weiner’s conduct ultimately caught the attention of federal authorities after DailyMail.com first revealed last September Weiner’s secret sexting relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
The high school sophomore told DailyMail.com that Weiner asked her to undress for him and engage in sex acts over video chats and sent her explicit messages and photos over several months in 2016 – despite knowing she was underage.
GOD that man is a creep.
I watched the documentary about him a few months back and felt SO weird about it. On one hand he is such a disgusting pervert… on the other he seemed like such a vulnerable little twit.
I have a feeling he won’t do well in prison.
However, it sounds like the FMC Devens is pretty cushy, as far as prisons go….
FMC Devens, which was a former military facility for nearby Fort Devens, houses inmates of all security levels, but specializes in prisoners with medical conditions and sex offenders, and is considered a relatively pleasant assignment as far as federal prisons go.
It offers a number of recreational activities, including Weiner’s favorite sport – hockey – as well as a hobby craft shop, a music practice room and cooking classes.
Weiner won’t be the only ex-politician at the facility. Former Massachusetts State Rep. John George, Jr. is currently serving out a 70-month sentence at Devens after he pleaded guilty in 2015 to embezzling federal funds.
The prison is also home to Hillary Clinton donor Raj Rajaratnam, the billionaire founder of Galleon Group, who was sentenced to 11 years for a $60 million insider trading scheme in 2009.
Other inmates include Bernie Madoff’s brother Peter, Gambino crime family consigliere Frank LoCascio and former New York City cop-turned-gun-smuggler William Masso.
Oh! So he’ll have a bunch of fellow Dems in there with him! Lovely! They can plan their future campaigns. Prison won’t hurt their chances…. Dem voters LOVE criminals.
So…what can he expect on his first day?
Upon arriving at Devens, Weiner can expect to receive a bodily search and be given prison clothing, according to the Devens prison manual. He will then receive medical and mental health examinations and be placed in ‘dormitory’-like housing to attend a four-week orientation program.
During the orientation program, Weiner will meet with staff and receive tours of the facility and grounds. He will also sit through classes where he would learn about the prison’s rules and its special programs and activities.
As a registered sex offender, Weiner could also be placed into the prison’s sex offender treatment program, which includes daily therapy and group classes.
Unlike other prisons that segregate sex offenders for their own safety from other inmates, sex offenders at Devens are separated from the general prison population. But they do receive intensive therapy designed to prevent them from re-offending.
The program requires sex offenders to follow rules on dress and behavior, including being fully clothed in the presence of staff and consenting to routine searches for pornographic contraband.
Participants are not allowed to possess suggestive, nude or partially nude pictures – including cut-outs from magazines and drawings. They also are not allowed to have sex paraphernalia or materials that are suggestive of sexual violence.During Weiner’s free time, he’ll be able to participate in the prison’s intramural sports teams, including basketball, soccer and floor hockey. Devens also has a hobby craft shop and offers art, chess and Bridge classes.
Although prisoners at Devens are allowed to use the internet for outside communication, Weiner is not likely to have this access because of his conviction for sexting with a teenage girl.
So his sexting days are over…. for 21 months.
