Family Names Baby Girl After Aircraft Call Sign Of Flight She Was Delivered On

I figured we could all use a break from the harrowing news we’ve been seeing day in and day out.

With all of the chaos occurring in Afghanistan right now, the four-star Air Force general overseeing U.S. European Command shared some heart-warming news on Wednesday.

While many Afghans were evacuated from Afghanistan, a baby girl was born on the C-17 inbound to Ramstein and was named in honor of the call sign of the aircraft she was delivered on.

That little girl’s name is Reach.

Fox News reported:

“We’ve had further conversations with the mom and the dad of the baby that was born the C-17 inbound to Ramstein,” Air Force Gen. Tod Wolters told reporters.

“They named the little girl Reach. And they did so because the call sign of the C-17 aircraft that flew them from Qatar to Ramstein was ‘Reach.’

“As you can well imagine being an Air Force fighter pilot, it’s my dream to watch that young child called Reach grow up and be a U.S. citizen and fly United States Air Force,” he added.

Reach, who was born Saturday, was not the only infant born amid the evacuation push from Afghanistan.

Thankfully, these babies will be able to grow up without the direct influence of the Taliban.

An additional 7,000 people from Afghanistan have been housed at the base at Ramstein Air Base this past Friday.

We have still yet to receive information from the State Department of the Pentagon regarding how many Afghans and Americans are still waiting to be evacuated from Afghanistan by the August 31st deadline.

In the event that an extended military presence is necessary, President Biden instructed the Pentagon and the State Department to organize a contingency plan.
