October 12, 2017One big story that isn’t getting enough attention? The wildfires in California. It’s devastating, you guys. I know natural disasters like hurricanes usually get more coverage, but this is just as serious. People are losing everything. At least 23 people have died, 180 people have been injured and another 600 are missing. The rapidly changing weather conditions are only expected to make things worse.

Twenty-two wildfires are ravaging the famed Northern California wine country and have destroyed at least 3,500 homes and businesses so far, according to California fire officials.
“The devastation is enormous,” Sonoma County Sheriff Robert Giordano said. “We can’t even get into most areas.”
The fires are considered the third deadliest and most destructive blazes in the state’s history.
That’s a big deal. At this point, they’re actually dealing with “explosive vegetation.”
“We are literally looking at explosive vegetation,” Ken Pimlott, chief of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said. “It is very dynamic. These fires are changing by the minute in many areas.”
