That’s a, let’s say, creative way to read between the lines.
Who’s going to break it to Sunny Hostin that 10,000+ slave owners were black?
On Friday, Hostin and Meghan McCain argued about gun violence in America intertwined with the intricacies of the Second Amendment.
Hostin will take “it’s racist” for $800… because, nowadays, what isn’t?
Fox News reported:
During the discussion, Hostin suggested the Second Amendment had racist roots and was “designed to protect slavery.” McCain described the right as the “cornerstone” of what she believed “America should be.”
“I think it’s a cultural problem and … for decades the NRA has pushed legislation that not only supported a lot of gun ownership and the proliferation of guns, but also stifled the study and spread of information about the causes of gun violence,” Hostin said after co-host Joy Behar asked what she thought was at the heart of “America’s gun problem.”
“I’m reading an incredible book called ‘The Second’ by professor Carol Anderson, and she describes that … the right to bear arms was designed to protect slavery because our founding fathers, and others, wanted to be able to empower a local militia group to basically put down a slave revolt and protect plantation owners,” Hostin added.
Then, Hostin somehow pulled ‘fear of white supremacy in the black community’ out of her butt, and the increase in violent crime isn’t simply lawlessness but more so comes from the black community feeling unsafe.
So, in short, we’re glorifying criminals.
The stronger the gun laws, the less the innocent are able to protect themselves. THAT is precisely why the Second Amendment exists (and for the people to protect themselves from a tyrannical government).
CRIMINALS. DON’T. CARE. ABOUT. LAWS.
LAW-ABIDING. CITIZENS. DO.
If you reduce consequences in the name of virtue-signaling, you equally reduce the accountability and responsibility within a culture.
