Trump Changed The Political Landscape For Minorities For Good

Regardless of what happens with this election, it’s fair to say that Trump changed the political game moving forward. Despite being labeled as a racist, white supremacist, Hitler-type authoritarian, Trump garnered the largest nonwhite vote since Richard Nixon in 1960.

If you have, like I do, social media friends and neighbors lamenting the horrid, racist landscape of our country, feel free to share that over one quarter of minority voters do not agree with them.

If you are a minority voter, don’t let people silence or shame you for what you know to be true. Trump’s administration did great things for all Americans, especially minorities.

In 2016 Trump earned 21% of the nonwhite vote when he spanked Hillary Clinton. In 2020, after years of a nonstop smear campaign, Trump pulled in 26% of the nonwhite vote. Some Blacks, Hispanics, and Muslims were not buying the hype! Trump won 28% of the LGBT vote. If you’ve kept track, that’s DOUBLE what he won in 2016. Gay people are walking their fabulous asses to the other side of the aisle in droves.

Identity politics are in the toilet and their engineers are peeing their pants. I can’t name a single articulate point from the Biden/Harris campaign except ‘Trump is a racist’ and ‘Climate change will kill us all soon’. I believe the rest were ‘fracking maybe but nah’, ‘packing courts prolly’, and ‘I am the Democrat Party’. To be fair, there are a ton of plans on their campaign website, but the individual plans are explained very vaguely at some times and completely inarticulately at others. In the end I simply got confused as to whose website I was on when I kept running across Trump’s name. They don’t have a comprehensive platform.

The strongest card they had was the race/sexual orientation/identify card, and it may have been overplayed. Minorities are not simply our skin color or sexual preference. Something you may know that the Democratic Party doesn’t seem to know, is that we care about our businesses, or taxes, our children’s schools, and some of us greatly care about being treated like equal citizens who value our freedoms instead of a special interest group that will trade our vote for free stuff.

I”m about as good at making predictions as the professional pollsters are so I can’t really say what will happen next, but I have a hard time seeing how Democrats will regain those votes for the next election. Maybe they’ll create new identity groups to separate us into and pit us against each other, maybe they’ll put all of their money on illegal immigrants, or maybe they’ll hope minorities will forget how much the left tried to play their emotions. But MAGA energy is very real. The excitement behind Trump’s rallies is a sign of invigorated conservatives, old and new, who love their country and will fight hard to maintain it. I’ve never felt so conservative in MY ENTIRE LIFE, and I just ordered a new MAGA hat.

I sincerely hope I have the opportunity to meet President Trump one day and thank him for all he’s put himself and his family through simply to fight for me and my country. He didn’t need the job but he was the perfect man for the job. He accomplished more in 4 years than any other politician I can think of, including the ones who’ve been around for decades. He may have lost money and support, but he gained a MAGA family that will continue to thrive and fight for freedom.

I will also continue to support Trump and his family, President or former President, and repay them for the dedication, sacrifice, and hard work. First, I’m checking in on my local politicians to make sure they’re fighting for their citizens the way Trump did, then I’m looking into one of Trump’s properties for our next family vacation.
