Unbelievable: School District In California Changes Grading System to ‘Combat Racism’

The San Diego Unified School District has solved racism. Boom. Done. Up in a puff of smoke.

It turns out, you can totally get rid of racism, by thinking MORE like a racist yourself. Sounds crazy, you say? Hear me out.

It may SOUND like a good idea to judge students by the content of their work or classroom behavior, but that’s just your own racist brain talking. Nah, they’re going to one up you in the racist department by saying that black students are incapable of getting good grades. And the English learners? Their grades are unexplainably poor. We can’t have that. It could be that they don’t have a good grasp on the English language yet, but they’ll never get it if we keep judging them for not having it! Or something.

The school board voted unanimously to change its grading system to combat the racism of minorities in their district earning poor grades. The minorities are failing more often than the white kids, so we’re just going to stop telling them they’re failing. Whuuuut? That’s a whole lot of idiocy in one place. That was the WHOLE school board y’all. I would assume they’d fix their broken system and get these kids educated, but I have these silly little ideas about setting standards. I suppose I’m racist, too.

Student School Board Member Zachary Patterson says, “I know students all across the district are really happy with the idea that these other accountability measures are no longer going to be defining their understanding of knowledge.”

Did that make sense to you, or is he just speaking typical California nonsense? Of course students want to get rid of accountability measures! What fruitcake asked for their opinion? How else are we supposed to define a student’s understanding of knowledge? That’s literally what a grade is…

These kids will now go out into the world completely unaware of how unprepared they are, but at least the school board can sleep well knowing they saved a poor Hispanic child from having to confront a bad grade. No, minorities can’t handle bad grades, and now they won’t have to. Not until they graduate from school and fail at life because school left them completely unprepared. You’re welcome, I guess.
