This Incredible Ad Thanking Police Officers Is Easily The Best Thing You’ll See Today [Opinion]

It is safe to say that being a company that supports liberal values is a lot easier than a company that stands for conservative values.

After their ad thanking police officers for laying their lives on the line every day in spite of the hate they receive, Egard Watch Company has solidified in my mind that they will be my next new watch purchase.

We (the COTR writing group) have been talking a lot about the way police are treated, and how it is going to be hard to convince the next generation of Americans to join the police department.

With cities and states around the country vowing to cut funding to police departments, I don’t know that it will be financially possible for law enforcement agencies to undo the damage. It reminds me a lot of how the military was treated after Vietnam, and how the military has had to be on a publicity tour of sorts ever since in order to increase recruiting.

Egard Watch Company gets it, and its ad depicts everything that needs to be stated.

Their tweet says:

“As a company, we stand up for our values. Speak truth without fear… Please share our video in support of its message.”

The imagery from their “Speak Truth” ad is both heartbreaking and uplifting. It starts with an easily-agreed-upon statement that our world is imperfect and full of pain and fear. It then displays the way good officers, despite the fear and judgment, still show up to lay their lives on the line to protect us.

Egard’s video reminds us that we are all human. That at the end of the day, the world is choosing to highlight the bad moments, and we need to remember that a world without the police would be a dangerous and dark place.

It is easy to write about corrupt cops or politicians. This, however, is a reminder to put the spotlight on the good of humanity so that we can drive out the darkness.
