Fox News is reporting that the GOP will have to move their convention out of North Carolina in order to hold the full-scale event.
President Trump announced late Tuesday that Republicans are “forced” to seek another state to host their convention, saying North Carolina’s governor was “still in Shelter-In-Place Mode” and had “refused to guarantee that we can have use of the Spectrum Arena” in Charlotte, despite earlier assurances.
The president didn’t name an alternative venue. Earlier in the day, GOP officials said they had started visiting potential alternative sites after Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, told them the coronavirus pandemic required them to prepare for a scaled-back event if they wanted to hold it in Charlotte.
Here is Trump’s announcement in full.

It’s too bad the GOP isn’t holding a “protest.” We’ve all seen how COVID-19 and social distancing requirements vanish when you are protesting or being a social justice warrior.
We have been committed to a safe RNC convention in North Carolina and it’s unfortunate they never agreed to scale down and make changes to keep people safe. Protecting public health and safety during this pandemic is a priority.

Of course, Governor Cooper wants nothing more than a scaled-down GOP convention. How much do you want to bet that if the Democratic National Convention were being held in North Carolina they would’ve been granted full access?
This is too bad for the state of North Carolina that probably, like all others at this point, could have used an economic jolt.
The GOP should take this as a lesson to only plan future conventions in states with Republican governors.
2020 is seriously messed up, people. I don’t recognize the country I am living in right now, and I am so disturbed at how our basic rights and freedoms are being trampled upon.
In an unprecedented move, leftist governor of North Carolina targets First Amendment rights of @RealDonaldTrump and Republican Party by seeking to regulate its national convention. Will the DOJ Civil Rights Division go to court to oppose this civil rights assault? https://t.co/HgVxST5Rzw

President @realDonaldTrump – Bring the Convention home! Florida appreciates and loves you!
Much better option than liberal states who prefer to play politics, even if it costs them $160+ Million in economic activity for local economy and jobs! https://t.co/YIMrVMX7I7
