While Joe Biden was speaking with supporters in South Carolina, he admitted he doesn’t even know what year this is when he wakes up in the morning.
Joe Biden: “Sometimes I wake up and think it’s 1920 and not 2020.”
He goes on the say that it is the President’s fault he thinks it is 1920. The way Trump talks about his opponents reminds Biden of politics in the 1920s. This was poor wording from a man who many believe has lost cognitive function. Biden has made multiple gaffes during his campaign that have led to the question: “Is Biden fit to lead?”
“The ways in which this President demeans people and individuals.”
Current polling in South Caroline shows Biden is gaining support from Democratic voters. This is in part because South Carolina’s “king-maker” Rep. Clyburn made an announcement yesterday, endorsing Biden. Biden is now showing a double-digit lead with 36%. Sanders is still in second with 16%, but the surprising revelation from the latest polling is Steyer. Steyer is a close third with 15% beating out Warren, Buttigieg, and Klobuchar.
Bloomberg could not be on the ballot for the South Carolina Primary. If Bloomberg was on the ballet Biden’s lead would be cut in half. Bloomberg did well in his town hall last night and the endorsement by South Carolina Rep. Todd Rutherford goes a long way to swaying support Bloomberg’s way.
If Biden can pull off a win in South Carolina today it would be a victory for all the Democrat candidates. If Bernie wins in South Carolina he will have secured enough delegates to win the Democrat nominee. The rest of the candidates should be pushing for anyone but Bernie to win. This will allow a chance for any one of the candidates to win the nomination on Super Tuesday.
