Donald Trump should always be known as the record breaker or trendsetter.
There was a rumor that the President would take a lap at the Daytona 500 today, and I sat patiently waiting for it. President Trump became the first sitting president in U.S. history today as he set the pace for the big race.
Trump came to the race as the Daytona 500’s Grand Marshall, along with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. You can tell that Trump was playing to a friendly audience as the crowd chants USA, USA, USA at just the sight of the President and First Lady.

It is so good to see the patriotism and respect that Donald Trump deserves.
He is one of the most productive and hard-working presidents of my lifetime.
He has had to push through hate and lies to fix our economy and set the correct course for our nation.

Here he is delivering the most famous words in racing. “Gentlemen, start your engines!”

Truly a historic first to see a sitting US President to set the pace at the Daytona 500. This race is one of the biggest races in the world and is known as America’s race.
The ground game and enthusiasm Trump has for his 2020 campaign is unparalleled. He has shown the ordinary people of the United States that he hasn’t forgotten us.
Events like these are so important, and there is a reason you won’t see a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren setting the pace for a race like this. The amount of American patriotism gives candidates like these hives.
Listen to Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon react to President Trump setting the pace. I don’t care what political party you are affiliated with, if you don’t think this is cool than you are un-American!

Clint: “He’s gonna pace the field? “Laughs” Love it, God, that’s awesome!”
Jeff Gordon: “I would love to be in this Daytona 500 field out there competing today. This is just so special.”
To everyday American’s this is the reason why we vote for Trump. It’s easier to be a fan of basketball and football, but a lesser watched sport like racing Trump makes it cool to support!
Watch as Trump and his motorcade lead the field.

Trump: “Drivers, this is President Trump and it was an honor to open the Daytona 500, have a phenomenal day, have a great race, be safe, God Bless you, we love you.”
Only Trump would set the pace for a Nascar race. Only Trump could make it look natural for him to both be at a Nascar race and a world summit.
