Last night in the Democratic debate, Joe Biden made his final pitch to the voters of New Hampshire ahead of the Tuesday primary vote.
Spoiler alert: It wasn’t a very good pitch.
In fact, he basically gave up.
“It’s a long race. I took a hit in Iowa,” former Vice President Joe Biden tells @GStephanopoulos when asked about Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg coming out on top in Iowa. https://t.co/93QauZSK6e #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/MUYN2fFVYE

George Stephanopoulos asked Biden, “In the last few days, you’ve been saying, the Democrats would be taking too big of a risk if they nominate Senator Sanders or Mayor Buttigieg. But they came out on top in Iowa. What risk did the Iowa Democrats miss?
This is a long race. I took a hit in Iowa, and I’ll probably take a hit here. Traditionally — Bernie won by 20 points last time. And usually, it’s the neighboring senators that do well. But I’m — no matter what, I’m still in this for the same reason. I’m going to — we have to restore the soul of this country, bring back the middle class, and make sure we bring people together. And so, it’s a simple proposition. It doesn’t matter whether it’s this one or the next. I’ve always viewed the first four encounters, the two primaries and two caucuses as the starting point.
Why would you give up before the vote? That’s no way to motivate your voters. Old Joe just doesn’t seem to have the fight in him. Poor, old man is probably TIRED.
And even if it’s true that he really doesn’t have a chance, DON’T SAY IT OUT LOUD!
If you were planning to vote for Biden in New Hampshire, would you even bother now?
