Slotkin was a former CIA analyst and served three tours in Iraq. She is considered an expert on the Shia militia. She has released a statement via a serious of tweets admitting that it was Soleimani who was allowed to continue the killings of her “friends and colleagues.”
Her statement reads in part:
“As a former Shia militia analyst who served multiple tours in Iraq and worked at the White House under both Presidents Bush and Obama, and later at the Pentagon, I participated in countless conversations on how to respond to Qassem Soleimani’s violent campaigns across the region.”
“If you worked on the Middle East over the past 20 years, you dealt with the growing organization and sophistication of Soleimani’s covert and overt military activities, which have contributed to significant destabilization across the region.”
“I watched friends and colleagues get hurt or killed by Iranian rockets, mortars and explosive devices that were provided to Iraqi proxies and used against U.S. forces under Soleimani’s guidance. We watched as his power increased and he brought strength and capability to groups in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, and to smaller cells around the Middle East and the world, with devastating consequences. We watched what can only be described as a cool war, taking place quietly under the surface of the public eye.”
There is an underlying theme with-in this statement, “they set back and watched.” It is a powerful use of words. Two former U.S. Presidents had the power to stop this mastermind of death, and did nothing but sit back and watch.
Our President is not a “sit back and watch” kind of guy.
Nope, he is an “I’ll send drones, dogs, or special forces to come to knock on your door” type of guy.
This is the same representative that PRETENDED to consider voting against impeachment.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders knew from the beginning that it was a publicity stunt, and yet we all fell for it.
Should we be listening to someone that uses impeachment as a way to bolster her following?
It is hard to negate someone as experienced as Slotkin. Still, as always, we must be wary of people capable of caring only about party politics, and that allow their friends and colleagues to be murdered by a terrorist.
