Early Estimates Predict France’s Marine Le Pen Will Make It To Round Two Of The French Election

The French election took place today, and people were really involved this year. The Telegraph reports that they’re looking at one of the highest turnouts in the last 40 years–69.42 percent (as of 6 p.m. local time). That being said, results are pouring in, and according to exit polls and early estimates, France’s right wing presidential candidate Marine Le Pen has made it into round two of the election. (If none of the 11 candidates garner 50 percent, it goes to a runoff. We all kinda knew that would happen.) The other candidate who’s projected to proceed? None other than Emmanuel Macron– the dude who told the French people to get used to terrorism.

Pro-globalist candidate Emmanuel Macron has won the first round of voting with 23.7 and anti-globalist populist candidate Marine Le Pen has come in second with 21.7 percent of the vote according to an exit poll conducted by Ipsos.

This is pretty significant.
