Chris Evans Feels ‘Rage’ And ‘Fury’ Over Donald Trump’s Presidency

Oh, Chris Evans. I used to love that guy. I had a major crush on him after the first Captain America movie came out. Of course, the character he played made that pretty easy. Captain America has always been my favorite superhero, for obvious reasons. (I even loved the political parallels in the latest Avengers movies, like the debate over government surveillance.) Also, BICEPS.

So you can imagine my disappointment upon learning that Chris Evans– the dude who plays the greatest superhero ever– is an insufferable progressive.

As it turns out, Evans feels “rage” over Trump’s presidency.

“I feel rage,” Evans told Esquire Magazine. “I feel fury. It’s unbelievable.”

“People were just so desperate to hear someone say that someone is to blame,” Evans said. “They were just so happy to hear that someone was angry, hear someone say that Washington sucks.”

Yeah, that was it. That’s how simple-minded we are. We gravitated toward Trump because he was an “angry” dude with a nifty hat. Way to insult our intelligence, Evans.

“They just want something new without actually understanding,” he continued. “I mean, guys like [Trump’s chief strategist] Steve Bannon — Steve Bannon! — this man has no place in politics.”

Going for two? Insulting our intelligence again? We just wanted someone new, but didn’t actually understaaaaaaaaaaand that Hillary Clinton was Kween of Everything and the She-Woman Savior of America? We didn’t vote for Trump based on his ideas? Lowering taxes? Reducing regulation? Repealing and replacing Obamacare? Tackling illegal immigration? Standing up to ISIS? Bringing jobs back home? Weeding out the corruption in Washington? What about that don’t YOU understand, Evans? The alternative was a corrupt, disingenuous seahag married to a serial groper. She lied about everything– from her private email server to her lifetime of pay-to-play schemes. Do you really not understand why half of America hates her? Is your mind not open enough to understaaaaaaand that? (Has anyone else noticed Evans’ go-to thing? When in doubt, he just lists off the names of people he finds repulsive. That’s how he argues. “I don’t like Trump. You know why? STEVE BANNON LIKE WHAT IS HIS DEAL?!” He rarely bothers to explain why he finds those people repulsive. Talking about actual policy? No thanks. Ain’t nobody got time fo that.)

For the record, Evans doesn’t care if his political outbursts stop people from seeing his movies. If he didn’t speak out, he wouldn’t be able to live with himself.

“Look, I’m in a business where you’ve got to sell tickets,” Evans told the magazine. “But, my God, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror if I felt strongly about something and didn’t speak up. I think it’s about how you speak up. We’re allowed to disagree. If I state my case and people don’t want to go see my movies as a result, I’m OK with that.”

Fair enough. But using disgusting human beings like David Duke to make low key generalizations about Trump supporters takes it a bit too far, don’t you think? We ALL hate David Duke. And retweeting classless weirdos like Sarah Silverman? Yeah. THAT’LL help win people over. Definitely.

The message he’s referring to? The Trump administration scrapping Obama’s federal bathroom directive. How HORRIFYING, allowing states and school districts to decide if biological males should be allowed in female locker rooms/bathrooms and vice versa.

Obviously we must prioritize keeping Americans safe. But we mustn’t become un-American in the process.

Apparently, Evans considers 62 million+ a minority. The toothless rubes in the Rust Belt don’t represent REAL America! Everyone knows REAL America is reflected by states like California and New York!

To be fair, Evans admitted that not ALL Trump supporters are horrible bigots. But judging from his previous comments, Evans doesn’t believe it’s possible that an intelligent, informed person could support Trump. Therefore, the non-bigoted Trump supporters are just ignorant and/or stupid and only voted for Trump because they didn’t know any better.

“Not everyone who voted for Trump is going to be some horrible bigot,” Evans said. “There are a lot of people in that middle; those are the people you can’t lose your credibility with. If you’re trying to change minds, by spewing too much rhetoric you can easily become white noise.”

Perhaps he should take his own advice.

I think it’s safe to say that Evans is the worst real-life representation of Captain America ever– solid actor with great biceps, but a terrible real-life example.
