When the Clintons left the White House, they were “dead broke,” so they took a bunch of White House furniture on their way out. However, some still don’t see it that way.
“Perhaps it was stuff that was given to them and they turned it over to the government and then changed their mind and treated it as a gift to them and put it on the 278 (disclosure form) and took it with them,” Richard Painter, who served as the chief White House ethics lawyer in the George W. Bush administration, said. “That is more debatable, depending on the intent of the donor.”
So, at best, they’re (trigger warning!) Indian givers?
As it turns out, Hillary wasn’t just into looting the White House. According to 100 pages of FBI notes released to the public Monday, Hillary had her staff remove “lamps and furniture” from the State Department and had them “transported to her residence in Washington, D.C.”
However, the State Department denies those allegations.
“Secretary Clinton brought a small number of personal items – including lamps – from her personal residence to the State Department when she became Secretary, and she took those personal items with her when she departed,” State Department deputy spokesperson Mark Toner said. “An inventory of the Secretary’s office was conducted when she arrived at the Department and when she left. No State Department or U.S. government property was removed.”
Take that as you will. Given the Clintons’ history of taking things that don’t belong to them, it’s not hard to believe.
You also might be interested to know that Hillary treated security agents like garbage.
“Prior to Clinton’s tenure, being an agent on the Secretary of State’s protective detail was seen as an honor and a privilege reserved for senior agents,” the FBI wrote. “However, by the end of Clinton’s tenure it was staffed largely with new agents because it was difficult to find senior agents willing to work for her.”
That’s weird, isn’t it? Why wouldn’t they want to work with such a tenderhearted grandma who definitely has the temperament to be president?
What’s more, Hillary “frequently” breached security protocol, often “bringing her unsecured Blackberry phone into a secure area where classified information is handled,” which “made many diplomatic security agents ‘indignant.'”
Wow. It’s almost like she has a “public” and “private” way she operates or something.
